The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Malaysia (HFEM) was established on 8 March 2011. HFEM is an interdisciplinary non-profit organization comprising of professionals from the human factors, ergonomics and human-computer interaction (HCI) fields. The Society promotes the sharing and application of knowledge concerning the characteristics of humans that are applicable to the design of products, systems and services. The Society encourages the education and training of members entering the human factors and HCI profession.
The Society is the youngest member of the South East Asian Network of Ergonomics Societies (SEANES). Yet it organized the Second SEANES Conference in 2012. In September 2013, it will host a National Seminar to create a platform for the country’s subject matter experts to showcase their knowledge and skills in bridging theory to applications. We invite you to participate in this event.
HFEM will join the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) as a federated member. IEA is the world body that gels ergonomics societies in 47 countries.
