Prior to the establishment of Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Pusing, a primary school, the village students studied at the Sekolah Melayu Padang Pusing. The school, which had seven classrooms, was made up of wooden structure and was opened by Mohd Akib Bin Yaakob, the then District Officer, on 11 April 1954. The school was then reconstructed and officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Sanusi Bin Junid, Minister of Rural and Regional Development on 14 March 1983.
In 1993, another two-storey building, teacher quarters, staffroom and field was built. In 1996, the existing wooden building underwent renovation and a hall as well as four classrooms were added. A science lab equipped with 20 computers was built in 2000 and in the middle of May 2006, Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) built a surau for the students and staff.
The school has 46 teachers and 11 non-teaching staff with a total of 668 students. Amongst the awards won by this school are two district level awards which are the Five Star Cafeteria Award and Fiver Star Financial Award won in 2002. The village students would then continue their studies at Sekolah Menengah Syed Ibrahim, a secondary school located on a 20-acre land, eight kilometres away from Pendang town. It is located at the foothill of Bukit Murai near Pekan Padang Pusing.
